Amazon SEO is a tough nut to crack.
You tweak.
You optimize.
You pour your blood, sweat, and tears...
Only to see no results.
But once you read this newsletter — you’ll know EXACTLY how.
Most brands overthink it.
Here’s a simplified version of the 5 most important ranking factors.
Master these to rank #1:
1. Keywords matter
Naming your products based on specific keywords people search for.
Simple, right?
But…
It's not easy.
Finding the right keywords means:
- Analyzing search query reports
- Researching competitor listings
- Digging deep into customer reviews
But when you find the perfect keywords, it makes a huge difference.
Here are some tips:
1. Make sure your top keyword is in the product title
2. Secondary keywords should be in bullet points
3. Repeat keywords in the product description
Also, using long-tail keywords helps.
For example:
"BPA-free water bottle" instead of "water bottle"
You'll show up higher in the search results for more specific queries.
2. Make your listings pop
This is the hack that is rarely talked about.
Use high-res images that load quickly.
Make sure your main image is on a white background.
Why?
Because Amazon's algorithm likes them.
Images account for around 70% of your listing.
They are essential for attracting customers.
Here's what to remember:
1. Use a high-resolution image.
2. Use a white background for your main image.
3. Use lifestyle images to show your product in use.
4. Use infographics to show the benefits of your product.
But, the hard truth is this:
If your product is not great, all the optimization won't work.
So focus on making a great product first.
3. Bullet points with a bang
Amazon SEO is no joke.
You need:
- Sales-boosting copy
- Features & benefits that jump off the screen
But that's just the basics.
Today, I'm going to show you a secret...
Bullet points.
But not just any bullet points.
Bullet points that combine persuasive sales copy with key features and benefits.
Ready?
Here's how it works:
Forget the boring, standard bullet points.
Replace them with something more persuasive.
Example:
- Standard: "Lightweight design"
- Improved: "Feather-light design for ultimate mobility"
See how that works?
Not only do you describe the feature ("lightweight"), but also add a benefit ("mobility").
Here's another example:
- Standard: "Durable material"
- Improved: "Military-grade construction for ultimate protection against wear and tear"
Nice, right?
In each case, you highlight the feature and sell the benefit.
This doesn't just apply to Amazon.
You can use this formula on a blog, product page, or sales pitch.
Remember, we buy based on the benefits, not just the features.
4. Reviews are like rocket fuel
Get more product reviews.
Reviews ≠ vanity metrics.
High ratings and positive feedback have a direct impact on:
- Search rankings
- Sales velocity
- Social proof
- Customer loyalty
The best way to get more reviews?
Ask.
Make it easy for your customers to leave a review, offer incentives, and most importantly, deliver a quality product.
Happy customers → more reviews → more visibility → more sales → happy seller.
5. Master the traffic surge
Drive traffic like you own the Internet.
Internal traffic (from Amazon) + external traffic (from outside of Amazon) = traffic.
More traffic = you rank higher.
Better ranking = more sales.
Here's how you do it:
1. Run ads on Amazon
2. Publish blog posts & direct traffic to your listing
3. Drive paid traffic to your listing
4. Promote your listing on social media
The more traffic you drive, the more sales you make, and the happier Amazon's algorithm is.
It's a win-win-win situation.
Final thoughts
Amazon SEO isn't a sprint, it's a marathon.
Consistent effort and a focus on quality will get you ahead of the pack.
Remember, ranking higher means more than just visibility – it's about unlocking higher sales and building a dominant brand.
The tactics in this newsletter are your blueprint.
Now, go forth and optimize!
